The National Business Council (Conep) announced that ruling Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) presidential candidate Gonzalo Castillo met in private with representatives of the leading business entity to tell about his plans if he is elected President on 5 July 2020. Conep has invited the presidential candidates to sit for questioning. The presentations with the other candidates have been live, not so with Castillo. News commentators observed the press was not even notified that Castillo would be speaking. Conep says the candidate conditioned his participation on the event not being live. There is speculation on social media that the video will be edited and then shared by the Castillo campaign team.
