Banco Popular Dominicano announces the passing away of the financial group’s founder Alejandro E. Grullón. He was president ad vitam of the board of directors of the bank. He was 91 years old. Grullón graduated in business administration from Syracuse University in New York. He went on to found the Banco Popular Dominicano that began operations on 23 August 1963. Grullón was also one of the founders of the Santiago Development Association (APEDI) that is credited with founding the Madre y Maestra Catholic University (PUCMM) university, the Superior Institute of Agriculture (ISA), among other entities in Santiago.
Alejandro Grullon died at his home in La Romana due to a cardiac-respiratory arrest.
