The Ministry of Public Health’s Epidemiology Department Coronavirus Bulletin #295 reports 1,045 new PCR cases for the Thursday, 7 January 2021 deadline. The 7-day nationwide average for PCR confirmed cases is 903, down from the previous 7-day average of 1,026.

Labs carried out 5,285 first tests, a number considerably above the 14-day average that is a low 3,272. The country can process 10,000 PCR tests a day.

The 4-week positivity rate is 18.77%, continuing the upward trend. The 24-hour positivity for the day is 19.77%, down from a high 31% the previous day. The number of reported active cases is now 40,180, up from the previous day.

One new death is reported for the Thursday, 7 January 2021 deadline, one occurring in the previous 24 hours of the deadline.

New restrictive measures are in place as per Decree 740-20 to contain the spread of the disease. From 1 to 10...
