The pilot plan to encourage freight trucks to use the Santo Domingo bypass instead of city avenues and streets was extended to 5 December 2021. The large freight trucks can use the toll road for free during the duration of the pilot program. Meanwhile, Diario Libre editorializes that the authorities have given too many permits enabling trucks to continue using city streets.
