Previous Presidents have only paid lip service towards completing the Montegrande dam; now Abinader has paid them for work completed and a target date of mid August for the finish of the first part.
It had been held up by one of the subcontractors for lack of payment.

It is good some politicians see the benefit of building water storage, a commodity of life very necessary .
You only have to turn to many areas like California which have turned there backs on dams and are now lacking water, perhaps even suspension of service in their future.
Too bad the government could not somehow undertake to fix all the leaking water lines in the country
It would be good to know what percentage of water is lost through broken pipes - my guess close to 50%.

But when the water suppliers bury their plastic distribution pipes 3" shallow ( they are never deep) - it is predictable

It's a never ending job for CAASD to replace water lines. Lots of old technology being replaced little by little.

They post pictures of repairs on a daily basis on their social media sites.
