As journalists and people browse through the more than 12,000 pages of the accusatory file presented by state prosecutors against former Attorney General Jean Alain Rodríguez Sánchez, the details are coming out on the story of unbridled corruption and ambition. The actual hearings have yet to commence.
Deals prosecutors have reached with several of the beneficiaries of corruption have enabled the evidence to come forward at this early stage. Several officials at the Attorney General Office (PGR) are collaborating with the prosecution, including right-hand man Rafael Canó Sacco, who is under house arrest in Spain, and is said to be the key witness in the case, as reported in N Digital.
Hoy reports that at worse, Rodríguez Sánchez faces a sentence of 20 years in jail. The Diario Libre back page editorial on 12 July 2022, nevertheless, is skeptical, recalling the corruption...
