The Ministry of Tourism or the National Hotel & Tourism Association (Asonahores) have yet to provide a detailed report on the industry and how it was affected by Hurricane Fiona.
What is known:
Santo Domingo hotels were not affected by Hurricane Fiona.
Casa de Campo in La Romana has announced it is back in operation after landscaping clean up.
Puerto Plata hotels suffered minor damages and are operating normally.
Hotels in Las Galeras, Samana that did not have concrete roofs suffered damages. Several hotels in this area are closed. Samana City suffered damages and is under intense reconstruction efforts. Las Terrenas is rapidly recovering, several hotels and restaurants were impacted, but many have reopened.
Hotels in the Miches area suffered major damages.
