YouTube journalist Marino Zapete announced he will not be uploading new reports to his El Jarabe muckraking channel. He is retiring.
Zapete announced that he closes his El Jarabe program on 30 December because he is tired and said it is time to open opportunities for the new talents. He said that the times have changed and what worked before no longer does today.
Zapete did not tell the public the standing of the counter-suit he brought against former Minister of Public Works, Gonzalo Castillo. Castillo had sued Zapete for comments regarding the irregularities in billions of pesos paid for the acquisition of asphalt during the Danilo Medina administration. Zapete had reported in November 2022 on the assigning of a bodyguard by the Ministry of Defense to Gonzalo Castillo.
