The pilot project to bus public school kids to school developed by the Ministry of Education was initiated less than two weeks ago in Monte Plata, La Victoria and Haina, in the National District, the province of Santo Domingo and the province of San Cristobal respectively. It will now be expanded to include Cambita and Palenque in San Cristobal, and Pedro Brand in Santo Domingo province.

The first phase of the program offered service to some 100,000 children and this second phase will add an additional 50,000. The National Transportation and Traffic Institute (Intrant), the Metropolitan Bus Service (OMSA) are working with the Ministry of Education.
