Arrivals again up this February; eyes set on reaching 11 million tourists in 2024

February was another good month for tourist visits with air arrivals up 14% and sea arrivals up 19%.

The Ministry of Tourism reports that 1,057,216 visitors arrived in February 2024, a month with 29 days. The total includes 755,832 non-resident tourists, up 14% compared to 2023.

Cruise ship arrivals in February 2024 are up 19% at 301,384 visitors. Taino Bay was the terminal to receive the most cruise ship visitors with 117,876 passengers, followed by Amber Cove, also in Puerto Plata, with 90,089. La Romana’s Casa de Campo and Isla Catalina ports received 69,136 and 10,153 arrivals. Santo Domingo port received 2,016 visitors. Cruise ship travel was up 19%, compared to 2023.

Punta Cana International Airport received 59% of all air arrivals. Las Americas (Santo Domingo) serviced 21% of air arrivals and El Cibao in Santiago 9.5.%.
