Boston Red Sox’s Fenway ballpark celebrated the opening of the 2024 championship on Tuesday, 9 April 2024. The event also marked the 20th anniversary of the Boston Red Sox win of the 2004 MLB Championship. David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez, members of that legendary team, were at the first game ceremony. Pedro Martínez, the third Dominican who participated in the legendary win, did not attend.
CBS News explained that Martinez missed the Tuesday ceremony because of his obligations as an analyst on TBS.
The Red Sox’s win in 2004 is regarded as one of the greatest comebacks in baseball history and marked the end of an 86-year championship wait in Boston.
