Presidency publishes rules to apply Organic Law of the Public Administration

The Executive Branch enacted the regulation for the application of the Organic Law of the Public Administration 247-12 that had been pending since the law was promulgated in 2012. The rulings reduce loopholes in the old ruling that many times has led to billions in wasteful spending through political patronage appointments and other actions in government departments.

President Luis Abinader said the rules seek to guarantee the performance of the administration in accordance with juridical, judicial, rational, efficient, effective, objective, fair, transparent, economical, publicity and coordination roles for government officials. It also includes provisions relating to administrative coordination, consultative councils and organizational policies of the public administration.
