Dominican traditional exports / Analytica
Statistics from the Customs Agency (DGA) reveal that exports to South America are growing steadily. One of the plusses making the difference is the large number of flights down South that have cargo space available.
In the first five months of 2024, some US$48 million were exported to the South American countries. This is US$10 million above the 2023 numbers.
The products going to the South include traditional exports such as tobacco, cigars, and some farm goods. But there is also medical instruments, veterinary equipment, and mining products, including ferro-nickel and gold.
