In a coordinated strike across five provinces, Dominican authorities, backed by the DEA and US Southern Command, dismantled a powerful international drug trafficking network, arresting 10 individuals and seizing millions of dollars in assets.

According to the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD), the operation, code-named “Buffalo NK,” involved 37 simultaneous raids, more than 400 law enforcement personnel, and aerial, maritime, and ground units. Led by the Public Ministry, the operation commenced at 3am on Wednesday, 18 September 2024.

Authorities seized approximately two metric tons of cocaine during the raids, which spanned the Greater Santo Domingo, and the provinces of Puerto Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez, La Romana, and Samaná. 2 tons is not chicken feed. The raids took place at night, hence the night vision.
