Prosecutors end strike after reaching agreement with Attorney General

Prosecutors have resumed their duties in prosecutors’ offices and courthouses nationwide after ending a strike, following an agreement with Attorney General Miriam Germán Brito, president of the Superior Council of the Public Ministry (CSMP). The strike was called over demands for salary increases.

Court prosecutor Francisco Rodríguez, a member of the Dominican Prosecutors Association (Fiscaldom), announced that a 20% salary increase was agreed upon, with implementation set to begin next year.

A second point of agreement concerns pension, retirement, and severance funds, which will also be implemented in early 2025. A start date of 9 March is proposed and the plan will be carried out as established in the regulations, taking into account age and years of service, given that most members of the Public Ministry are elderly and have over 20 years of service.
