President Luis Abinader is expected to travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Thursday, 2 January 2025 to attend the inauguration of the island’s new governor, Jenniffer A. González Colón.
The President is scheduled to depart early in the morning, arriving in time for the noon swearing-in ceremony.
Accompanying President Abinader will be Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez, the director of the Tax Agency (DGII) Luis Valdez, Vice Foreign Minister for Consular and Migration Affairs Opinio Díaz Vargas, the director of the President’s Office Noelia Shephard, and the director of CUSEP, General Jimmy Arias. The Dominican consul in Puerto Rico, César Cedeño, and the President’s press director Daniel Garcia Archibald are also part of the official delegation.
President Abinader is scheduled to return to the Dominican Republic later in the afternoon.
