National Police and Public Prosecutor's Office arrest employee in connection with robbery at the Cabo Rojo Tourist Port.

-They are pursuing another employee of that Port.

The case occurred on January 11 and was reported on the 15th.

The National Police reported the arrest of a man identified as one of two people responsible for the robbery committed in the administrative offices of the Cabo Rojo Tourist Port, in the province of Pedernales, where the sum of RD$796,000 and US$500 in cash were stolen.

This is Jeffrey Yulianny Colón Pérez (a) Yefri, 25 years old, employee of the aforementioned Port, who was arrested at his residence through arrest and search warrant No. 592-2026-00002-AP.
The detainee was found in possession of clothing used by one of the assailants, as seen in the images captured by the building's security cameras.
According to the preliminary report, the incident occurred last Saturday, January 11, 2025, but was officially reported on Wednesday, January 15, by the representative of the affected company, who indicated that the case had been handled internally before notifying the authorities.
According to the initial report, two unknown hooded individuals entered the premises without forcing doors, taking advantage of the lack of locks in the offices.
In the investigation, led by the Public Prosecutor's Office and agents of the Investigation Department (DICRIM) and technicians of the Scientific Police, fingerprints were collected, and the images captured by the security cameras were analyzed.
These showed two hooded subjects, one of them carrying a silver firearm.
*Arrest* Later, the DICRIM agents carried out the search at the residence of Colón Pérez, where they seized a black coat and a red blanket with characteristics similar to those observed in the security videos, as well as a cell phone.
The detainee will be made available to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding legal purposes. The authorities also indicated that they are working on identifying a second man who was seen on surveillance video committing the crime alongside the suspect.
The National Police continues to work to clarify this case and continue with the investigations until all those responsible for this crime are captured.

What happened to the other $7,486,000.00?
