The Dominican Republic has announced the launch of a RD$500 million fund aimed at supporting entrepreneurs in the cultural and creative sectors. The fund, a joint initiative of the Ministry of Culture and the National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (Promipyme), seeks to bolster the nation’s orange economy and promote circular economy practices.

Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, and Fabricio Gómez Mazara, director of Promipyme, unveiled the program on Wednesday, 5 March 2025 at the Ministry of Culture headquarters. The initiative prioritizes ventures in fields such as fashion, design, gastronomy, advertising, publishing, photography, theater, and crafts, as well as software development related to arts and culture.

Unless this money is gonna be controlled top to bottom under a very strick chain of command, I seriously doubt much of it will end up being used for it's intended purpose. Good luck with it.

What's an orange economy?
100% aGREED.
It's not like they can just list their creations on Ebay, Etsy or Amazon and run an online business. If they wanted the general public to be able to make a living this way, they would find a solution to this ridiculous export issue.
