Ok, so did not think I would ever do anything like this, but here goes. I made the page linked below like a year ago, but did not promote. Did not want to as things got slightly better. Promoting now. I won't make this post long, there is a decent amount of info on the page itself, and happy to address any information requests via pm or if it's not too personal, also directly on the thread. There are no photos anywhere due to privacy reasons, also happy to provide these privately. Can provide email or any contact info also via pm.

Thanks very much.

She'd be far better off getting the treatment she needs in Germany.

A good pocket translator will resolve any and all language/ translation issues.

Good luck.

It's not that simple. I or even our older son could easily translate for her. It's her that needs be able to communicate directly with the medical professional. There are Spanish speaking ones in Germany but very few. Another aspect is that her whole family is obviously there for her and for us in the DR. That is part of what is needed. It's not that my wife exactly chose to have occasionally this condition, my SIL also suffered a milder one in the past after having her kids.

Understood.

A quick follow up on this matter, but really more to say our sincere thanks to everyone. In particular I wanted to reach out to JDJones, I have also been in contact with him via PM, so wanted to express our gratitude publicly for all he has done. The DR1 is the only forum I have ever been active in, but this place often times does not even feel like just any place where you write your opinions and such. It's often times much more. I have received from this forum and the community and will be happy to pay back. This "paying back" we have in fact already in one way began by helping our valued member cobraboy help adopt a very special dog from him due to moving to the US. Obviously, the "paying back" does not stop there.

To the subject matter of this thread, I'm happy to say that things with us are indeed radically different than things were back in March 6th. I have been many times concerned that things would go horribly wrong health-wise, but thankfully, I have been wrong. Things have not gone exactly as planned on many fronts, but we have indeed received the the help needed. I have learned that these things are never straight forward nor easy, but if you have the will, you have or you will have the way.

Whoever made a very kind donation after my post yesterday via the GoFundMe link, please kindly contact me via PM. GoFundMe states the name of the person but I'd rather not post that in a public forum. GoFundMe sent me an email that they have had to close my account, and in the email it is stated clearly that they cannot let me know of any reasons behind this. I have no idea what is going on, but from the get go the experience with GoFundMe has been very bad. I will not be using them again. We have depended on them and they have really let us down.

I thought that they will deactivate the account if you are not "actively" prompting it.

At least in this case this was not the case. My account with them was unused for a bit (as you could see from the campaign), and they let it just be. What I really "like" is their really informative customer service emails and the wording. They freeze things and clearly state that "we cannot give any information as to why". That's translated to English, but still.

I thought GoFundMe would not accept donations or post solicitations from the DR. I tried the link and it did not work.
As posted above, my account was deactivated by them, so the link would indeed not work. For any interest for further donations/anything else, please PM.

I have carefully went through their TOC, the person who is responsible or sets up any campaign, has to indeed be resident elsewhere. No DR phone number, address, bank account or other details accepted. My information on the account are from my home country, not from the DR. I don't know how it's with the donations, those worked fine until today, again, for reasons I have not been given. All I know that their platform is not very user friendly for the campaign manager and their customer support is beyond strange. I can give details if anyone is interested but rather not make a long post.
