A Police colonel was caught on video confronting noise control agents that had been trying to do their job. The good news is that the agents were protected by cameras that took footage of their actions and the reprimand by the raging Police colonel. This led to an investigation and the suspension of the Jarabacoa chief.

The Ministry of Interior & Police is on a crusade to reduce noise impacting residential areas. The recent video shared on Noticias SIN and social media shows the difficult task those on the noise-fighting units need to deal with, especially when a higher-ranking officer does not agree with their controlling the businesses in their town.

Gotta love those cameras! I'd love to see the esteemed coronel having a conversation with Faride.
If he does meet with Faride, his tune will be changing. Suspect he will be shown the door to set an example. More cameras are needed.

That was indeed nice to watch. The officer carrying the camera remained so professional the whole time, while being screamed at by the lunatic... If someone has the need to interrupt a person speaking calm, they aren't usually in the right. I enjoyed the part "now you're changing the story, the camera on, now I was after money"... I would make sure that officer gets a promotion, that is how an authority should behave. My full respect.

Never has there been a clearer case of the Old DR vs the New DR captured on video.
These "Colonels" who have been on the force for more than 10 years have a very different way of "policing"

The country is indeed a changing.

I bet the colonel wishes he could roll back the clock and not have put on his Rum-Bravado to the noise police.
He will probably enjoy his suspension with full pay

I am reading the book and came across this. Seems noise has always been an issue.

ROAMING THROUGH THE WEST INDIES copywrite 1920

"Like all Latin-Americans, the people of “La Capital” are great lovers of noise. Despite American rule the crack-voiced church bells begin their constant din long before dawn. During the “flu” epidemic, with its endless succession of funerals, they thumped for nine mortal days without a pause, until the marine doctors protested that most of the victims were dying for lack of sleep. Automobiles scorn to use mufflers; carriages are constantly jangling their bells. Every boy in town is an expert whistler, and every passer-by will find some way of making a noise if he has to invent it. The 253throngs returning from the cinemas habitually make slumber impossible until after midnight. One comes to wonder if it is not this constant lack of sleep that makes the Dominicans so nervous, inattentive, and racially inefficient."
