On Friday, 4 April 2025, President Luis Abinader was in Bani, the capital city of Peravia province, to open some highways and byways. During his stop in Peravia, he was accompanied by the Minister of Public Works Eduardo Estrella.
He oversaw the construction of the much-awaited Bani Bypass, according to the Presidency. The bypass will reduce east-west driving time by at least half an hour. It has been under construction for around four years and is expected to be delivered this 2025.
The President also cut the ribbon on 7.2 kilometers of re-paved streets in the city of Bani.
The projects have used a budget of some RD$148 million. The streets received new asphalt paving, new gutters and new signage for traffic and pedestrians alike.
