The Weather Institute (Indomet) announces rainy weather for most of the Easter holidays that began on Palm Sunday, 13 April 2025. Easter Week is the peak of domestic vacation time in the Dominican Republic, with schools off for the entire week.
Indomet reports that a passing active trough will bring rains to most of the country, mentioning the southeast (including Greater Santo Domingo), the southwest, Puerto Plata, Santiago and Bonao, the Central Mountain Range and the border provinces.
