Mar de Palabras literary festival coming in June 2025

Minerva del Risco, a leading local poet and poetry promoter, announces that 35 Latin American writers will participate in 16 talks together with publishers, critics, journalists, academics and readers to talk literature and exchange ideas, Diario Libre reports. The event will be take place from 27 to 29 June 2025 at the Kimpton Hotel of Calle Las Mercedes, in the Colonial City.

The festival seeks to recreate the Hay Festival held in Cartagena, Colombia. Del Risco is working closely with cultural promoter, Yulissa Alvarez in making this version of the Colombian event for the Caribbean.

Both Del Risco and Yulissa Alvarez in 2023 carried off the very successful Centroamerica Cuenta that brought together the literary elite of the region for talks in the Colonial City.
