The president of the Dominican Emergency Medicine Society, Dr. Eliezer Jimenez Puello urges the government to regularly inspect closed public spaces where large numbers of people congregate for safety issues. He also said the lack of government supervision needs to be a matter of the past.

Interviewed by Hector Herrera Cabral of D’Agenda, Dr. Jimenez Puello said that the construction and operation of venues have become a matter of public health. He said it does not matter where they are private or public because the structural failures will have repercussions in the public health system and this is why the state has to get its act together.
