I wear a lot of black t-shirts, so I'm getting some camouflage pants that'll match the look at night. I realize it's not a Latin thing, but I don't care. It looks great IMO.

BUT, I heard, in certain countries in the Caribbean you can be placed in jail. Has anybody been thrown in jail for wearing this? haha

According to my husband, you’re not supposed to wear any camouflage clothing, they consider it impersonating army/Air Force/police. BUT he says he’s seen people wearing it, so it’s no longer enforced.
I've seen them take away camouflage hats at times.

I had a friend not long ago who was "arrested" until somebody brought him a change of clothes

As long as you don't combine those pants with a camo shirt you should be okay. I saw a Dominican with matching blue camo shorts and t-shirt get grabbed by the police in Sosua Beach parking lot for his outfit. They put him in a PN pickup and took him away.

So long as you don't look as if you are trying to impersonate a PN or your heading into combat, as a foreigner you should be ok. If you were Dominican or Haitian, I'd advise you not to wear any camouflage at all as it will draw the attention of the authorities.

True ! But riving around with blue and red lights and sirens on a private Jepeta seems to be ok LOL (at least in Santo Domingo)
