Monday, 5 May 2025 will be a holiday in the Dominican Republic. It commemorates Labor Day that actually falls on Thursday, 1 May but the holiday will be moved to the following Monday. The change of the Labor Day off-time creates a long weekend.
Take special care to avoid traveling at times when people may be headed for vacations out of the cities.
The long weekend is also a good time for shopping and enjoying the cities because of the reduced traffic congestion.
