Silly question.
One should never pay more than what locals pay for anything.
Just confused on what the OP is looking for. The way it is worded it sounds like the prices locals pay and what gringos pay?

Understood.

I think anyone who's asking this type of question is going to end up paying alot more to spend time here. The North Coast is worst offender in my opinion.

What I think @Tug7777 is looking for :

He is looking for both the prices that the locals pay and the one that is paid by expats (perhaps not what the tourists pay)
I think he might be a snowbird or an older expat who wants to figure out what are fair prices to pay in 2025

The thread is just a bit misleading in my opinion, as I opening it I though there would be a comparison of the basic basket etc, as aside from the first couple of items, I fail to see how these fall under the category of "

basic cost goods and services"

As someone who lives full-time in Santiago and visits Sosua about twice a month, on average you can expect to pay about 25 - 30% more for everything up there when exploring paradise.

Now a days you pay a lot more to live that dream and you get a lot less in return. It's not near as fun or aesthetically pleasing as it was 12, 13 years ago.
