What's so offensive about it? I am from the United States and I wouldn't have picked her either.. and I don't find anything wrong with Marilyn saying that...

Oh boy, I knew it would be taken the wrong way...

but I stick to my opinion, she was no beauty contest quality, definitely not Miss Universe quality, maybe she could win if she participated in the Mr. Universe contest....

PS: I watched the Miss America contest and I felt betrayed (I lived in the US for 30 years so I feel a part of anything that happens to it...) when she was chosen, she was the ugliest of them all and they chose her... why?

and yes, in general (that's the key word, in general, there are always exceptions), maids are ugly in the Dominican Republic, maybe is not politically correct to say it, but it's the truth...

Sorry if I offended anyone, but it's my humble opinion, the US could've done better and it had nothing to do with color, proof is that this might be one of the few times, if not the first, that the US is not among the top ten...
