A luggage question on Delta

Hello my airlines guros, I have a question.
Can I check in a carton box on domestic and international flights on delta? I know AA doesn't let you check in a carton box but can you tell me if DL would allow me to check in a carton box instead of a suitcase? atl-JFK-SDQ route.

I dont think so, look what they website says:


With the exception of original factory-sealed boxes that will be accepted on a standby basis, Delta does not allow boxes as checked baggage to Central or South America (except Brazil, Mexico, and Chile) at any time of the year.
