Que proteccion esta dando AERONAUTICA CIVIL a la aviacion civil dominicana, lease compa?ias aereas, pilotos, etc. Cuando autoriza a lineas aereas extranjeras a volar rutas que tambien son cubiertas por nuestras "jovenes" compa?ias....que representan lo nuestro y los empleos de muchos dominicanos.
Lo pregunto porque NO SE.
Me gustaria saber cual es la funcion de esta institucion del Estado Dominicano, que trabaja en favor de los intereses del PUEBLO DOMINICANO.
O es que no se entiende como un monopolio lo que hay en nuestro pais, donde el mas grande es autorizado a eliminar el mas peque?o?

Manolo al ver lo qu esta sucediendo en nuestro pais con la aviacion civil es sumamente increible creo que somos el unico pais donde se ven cosas iguales la desprotecion de la aerolineas nacionales, creo que esa aprobacion de 22 vuelos a EAGLE es el golpe mortal para AIR SANTO DOMINGO ojala este equibocado,pero la pregunta de rigor POR QUIEN Y PARA QUIEN TRABAJA LA DGAC? yo pensava que uno de sus roles era la proteccion de las aerolineas nacionales !! pero con los actos de ellos parece que no.
Y SI HAY MONOPOLIO QUE NO DEJA ADELANTAR LAS POBRES NACIONALES aunque mucha gente no lo vea asi, ahora mas evidente es, que si lo hay y que esta siendo protegido por las mismas autoridades dominicanas.

The answer resides in the fact that the Dominican government made our national airline a patronage shop and led it to bankruptcy. The result was the demotion of our air worthiness to the worst classification in existence. We have spent millions trying to fix this up and while the new Chief of Aviation Trajano Moreta has the direct mandate from Hipolito to get us a classification 1, some more work has to be done to get there.

American has taken advantage of this and who can blame them?
They will continue to smack us with stiff prices as long as we keep flying.

La DGAC is a waste of taxpayer's money. And they are in AA's back pocket.
One problem is that Air Santo Domingo is flying those inexpensive Czech planes that are not certified in the US. Don't know all the ins and outs of this.

Did you know you could go LAX to Tokyo for $198!!!! and NY Paris for $398?? Many other incredible prices. But SDQ-JFK? $700-800$$$$$$$ In-freakin-credible. I can go SDQ MAD for RD$6,000. NYC is 10,000!

American has us by the -----!

Quisiera llora ante esa desgracia! De pique y de furia....

Y en otra dependencia del gobierno:
En estos dias, el flamante jefe del INDRHI, Silvio Carrasco, va a repartir unos 3- a 40 vehiculos entre "su"gente. El INDRHI va a pagar el 75% y los nuevos due?os el 25%!!..Que chulo? NO???

Distance and airline ticket prices have never correlated. I can flight from NYC to London cheaper than NYC to Detroit under the right conditions, but in general, a flight to Japan or France is FAR more expensive than a flight to the Dominican Republic.

If you take away the Dominican government imposed taxes on each ticket sold, the DR is actually cheaper than most other Caribbean destinations. So blame the Dominican government, not American Airlines. If one lives in NYC, they can fly on USAIR or Continental as an alternative. Seasonally, one can also fly on Northwest, non-stop from Mineappolis to Puerto Plata. I don't think American having more flights per day allows them to charge any higher than the other two airlines are charging.

I flight from Detroit at least once a month to Santo Domingo. I usually get my tickets for about US$400-450. Smart ticket buyers know that ticket prices go up and down in cycles of 2-5 months. One merely needs to know the recent lows and highs in any market to know where in the cycle the current fare lies. I buy when the fares are at the bottom of the up-down cycle.

Ever check the price of a ticket to Aruba? Grand Cayman? Barbados? Not much different in price compared to Santo Domingo.

That doesn't mean I disagree with you about useless or incompentent government agencies.
