This is interesting. They now break down the flight price with all the taxes, so we can see how much the DR is charging.

People have complained that POP flights cost more because of higher fees at POP airport. Those who say they know better refute that claim.

It would be informative to see the same breakdown for Santiago, Santo Domingo and Punta Cana airports to compare and contrast those allegedly lower fees at those airports. Otherwise that Aerodom Fee of 157 RD seems rather minimal if all the other fees are the same at all DR airports.

Airports fee nothing has to do with the taxes, here goverment double the amount for taxes you pay if you are traveling to USA. Prices will depend on how hard could be to fill the airplane, the airline line will charge as much as they can to the few seats they sell, thats why prices keep changing, according on how many times people search for a flight.

I am only interested in if the prices for flights at different airports are lower or higher because of something the airport does which is hidden in those charges. That is what many claim is a reason for POP being higher than other DR airports.

My guess is that it has to do mainly with the airline and what they charge based upon supply and demand, profits for the airline, along with few routes available to POP and that lack of competition makes POP prices higher.

That is why I asked if anyone had the same breakdown for the other DR airports so a real comparison could be made.

Thats correct, because the taxes by law apply the same to all airports doesnt matter wich one you fly, another point is the competition, when an airline is alone in a route they do whatever they want with the prices.

Each airport makes it's own price for landing fees. Obviously if one is higher it is taken into the price the airline charges for tickets both ways. This will make a difference but you will not see it on your item list.

so your saying we pay $342.00 usd in tax one way?

If you read the break down, the flight portion is $342 or $19,439 RD. The taxes are the balance, around $9000 RD. The taxes part is fixed, the flight part varies with the airline
