Ait Transat--Are They On Time??

We are traveling to the DR in April on AirTransat. When I booked our trip, I knew nothing about this company and trusted that the travel agent would be booking reputable packages. But in the past two weeks, I have met three people who have recently returned from trips to the DR. ALL of them said that their outbound flights from Canada were delayed--one for ten hours!! This concerns me because we are scheduled to leave Canada at 8:30 am, arrive in Puerto Plata around 12:30 and then take a long bus trip to Samana. If we are delayed, that could mean a night bus trip, which isn't appealing for a number of reasons. Does anyone have any info on Air Transat's reputation for being on time with their schedules. Are they notoriously late. It was not encouraging to receive three negative travel reports in only two weeks. They did, however, say that they had a great time in the DR. Would appreciate any feedback on AirTransat that anyone can give. Thank you. MiaBella

We travelled with them last August, on time both going to the DR and back to Canada...

Hi Mia I've been to the d.r. at least 20 times and only once had a delay with air transat. They are one of the best charters from Montreal. Have a great vacation!!

I just travelled with Air Transat last month, our plane left at 6am so i can sympathize with you wanting it to be on time. We didn't have a problem at all, we were even a bit early! Have a good trip!
