He was also engaged to Ada Aimee, first runner up Miss Universe 2009.
She is as beautiful and nice as Amelia. Either of both was a good choice.

I don't think Citizenship is an issue for Amelia, as she is already living in Miami, with several businesses. The 8 million clams plus per year are probably a factor though. At 25 she was becoming an old maid.

Maybe 3 years for US Citizenship?

When these people here will understand that the only Dominicans interested in US Citizenship are the poor girls from the barrios.
Amelia Vega comes from a very respetable and wealthy familily from the Dominican society.
She has several business in Florida. plus She has a 7 million dlls. contract with Cover Girl, among other business.
She is also the niece of world famous musician Juan Luis Guerra.
She does not need US Citizenship. She is Dominican and very proud.

If she's so respectable, why'd she marry someone who was already engaged and just had 1 week apart from his ex? I'd smack the taste out of my daughter's mouth.....but then again, maybe your respect is different from my respect.

Looks like to me, she's getting sloppy seconds.
I'm just sayin'

Just because someone is a " proud dominican ", from a respectable family, has money and does not need citizenship does not guarantee that they have the best judgment. I also know many respected, wealthy dominicans that are interested in citizenship, and know alot who have obtained it. I wonder since this is a " respected, wealthy, proud dominican family " if they also questioned this sudden marriage? Wish them well though.

I have many aunts and cousins with 10 years visas that I don't see trying to move to the US other than just to visit or vacation.

She doesn't need to get married to get a US citizenship. She already has a green card and hasn't apply for citizenship because it is not one of her priorities.

This just shows on many of you, your lack of US immigration laws knowledge, when you think that marrying is the only way to get a green card or a citizenship.

FYI, did you know that one of the ways someone can get a green card is by starting a business with at least 10 employees ?

I think some of you need to live your own life, rather than someone else's based on 10th hand gossip.

My comment about Vega wanting citizenship was meant to be a joke. The responses were interesting.
The one about opening a business and employing 10 people to get a green card was informative.

As for her marriage, I give it a year to two maximum.

Hahaha...a true Dominican man right there. He's probably been banging Amelia on the side for a while now. Probably got her pregnant and needed to marry quick.

Think about it, a Dominican man that is also a well known professional basketball player. Emphasis on the word "player".

Ada Aimee is FAR superior to Amelia Vega - no competition there at all.

Which one of them won the Miss Universe title?

If you recall the competition

Ada Aimee came in 2nd - she lost only because she flubbed the question. (I suspect she's as uneducated as she is fine)

Head to Head with Amelia Vega -in terms of looks - no competition there. Vega gets so much press because she's a darling of Dominican society (and because she won).
