Anyone need flights to Puerto Plata???

Can anyone help??? Yesterday I purchased two air fare tickets from Toronto to Puerto Plata, the travelling dates are Aug 21st returning from POP on 4th Sept. However, today an unforseen circumstance has arisen and I will not be able to travel to the DR until a fortnight later on the 4th Sept. However, the travel agent that I booked with will not amend or cancel my ticket, even for a fee, as the airline AirTransat, is a charter company and therefore under no obligation to amend my tickets.

If anyone is interested in buying these tickets from me, please contact me as I really cannot afford to fork out twice for these tickets...somebody please help!!!

Usually the airline, Air Transat will let you trade your tickets for another departure date. Did no one suggest that. They will not give you a refund but they will usually credit you for travel at a later date. Try that first. Beside which the ticket will already have your name on them and they are not transferable. to someone else.

I have contacted Air Transat already, they were the first people I called, they told me that I could change the time of travel on the date specified, but I couldn't change the date to a later one.

Just for your information, there is no problem changing the names on the tickets as the tickets are not yet physical, thus the travel agent has said as the tickets have been booked, but not issued it is still feasible to change the names on them to anyone else willing to purchase them, in fact she is trying to sell them for us in her shop.

Thanks for the tip. I have changed the date of travel myself with Air Transat. I wonder why the change. I leave tomorrow for Puerto Plata for 3 weeks. Sorry I could not help you.
