Since some of you appear real computer specialists, could you please make my life easier?

I am leaving the Dominican Republic in a few weeks, and do not want to loose all the favourites I gathered in my computer at work. I would like to send them all at one time to my laptop at home (by e-mail). Anyone has a clue if this is possible? Or do I have to send page by page link by link?

Thanks!

It depends on what browser you are using. Under Internet Explorer, see File - Inport and Export. It allows you to export your favorites into an HTML file that you can attach in an E-mail or you can open up a free home page somewhere such as geocities.com and place the file there. Later, you can import your favorites by referencing that file.

For Internet explorer, there is also a folder under the windows directory named FAVORITES. You could copy this to a disk and transfer it over.

when you say "favorites", are you just referring to favorite places in IE, or other items you have saved?

If it is only favorite places, open IE click TOOLS, INPORT/EXPORT, then select either text file or Windows Exchange (If you use it) then export, name the file something you remeber on your "A" drive then finish. All your favorites will be saved in a text file and simply reverse the process (import) on the new computer

In IE Import / Export is actually under the File drop down menu.

If you go ahead and use the import / Export feature to A: save your links as *.html, as when you come to read the disk you are able to "drag and drop" the links to anywhere, eg to older or different browser versions.
Also if you want to email them to yourself, after exporting to A:
use windows explorer, open A:, right click on the folder, then from the list choose "mail recipient", and email them.
DONT try this if you didnt save to A:, or it will only mail a shortcut to the harddisk they are stored on, and not the full http link.

Hope this helps

thanks guys!

I could not get everything selected in one time with import/export functions (there is no "select All" option), so I copied the favourites file as Jerry suggested. Now let?s see if I can copy them from a: to my other harddisk....
