Re: barcelo decameron resort *PIC*
Decameron is a part of Barcelo chain now, not to many changes from the Allegro times, still rated as a three stars, so don't expect much, food is mediocre at the regular buffet, better at a la carte restaurants(Mexican, Italian and Brazilian). If you stay at the main complex(3 story villas) the beach is just across a narrow street, if you stay on the Tower, the beach is at the front door. Casino at Decameron, big time rip-off, I don't belive they change the cards from the time they open in '86, down the road, 10 minutes walk to the west is Coral Costa Caribe, with a nicer and better managed Casino. To the east are Talanquera and Capella, managed by Barcelo also, then Metro Marina, Playa Real and Melia Juan Dolio. A few restaurants are out of the gated complex, mainly to the east, on the part of Juan Dolio known as Villa de Mar, La Paella (sea food, Spanish style) and a little Italian restaurant "Il Pisano", say hello to Franco and his mother who is the chef, Sig. Floriana.
For a better deals on side tours, go to J&R Tours across from Metro Marina Hotel, Rafael will give you a 10% discount on the same tours book thru Hotels.
