I usually stay at the Hampton near the airport, but we want to wake up and see the ocean and then take a little boat ride before heading to Samana. When I search hotels, many look nice, but then I read the reviews and people just hammer the hotels with bad reviews. Can anyone recommend a hotel, beach front, ocean view in Boca Chica that is clean and modern with air conditioning? Please save all the negative comments about Boca Chica. I know all about it, the good and the bad, just trying to find a place to stay. Thanking you in advance . . . .

I live here but couldn't recommend anything as we never stay in a hotel. I will say I have walked by Hamaca many times and it sometimes is packed on weekends with Dominicanos/as. Not sure if you would view that as a good or bad.

I almost booked that place but then I read the reviews. I don’t care about the food but the comments on cleanliness scared me.

I am easy to get along with but I have a few new people coming and when I read the reviews that say “terrible” , one after another, it makes me wonder.

Try Hotel Zapata on the west end of the beach. Small place owned by a Dominican family. Private beach right in front before the public beach. This hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of La Duarte.

I had a bad experience with them. I made reservations for my wife and I and her family a few years back.

When we walked in the owners son was at reception, and he told us "Sorry, no prostitutes"

The MIL almost decked him.. lol
