Beach Hotels Under $25 US....still possible????

I once traveled the North Coast and the South-East coast and stayed at small hotels [guest houses] for less than $25 US a day.
I want to duplicate that trip but need to know what the going rate for "budget hotels" are today. If you have stayed at one or two would you please share the rate you payed? Thank you!
Beach Route to be on the North coast: Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete,Rio San Juan, Nagua,Las Terrenas,Samana.

Beach Route South-East Coast: Boca Chica, Bayahibe, Playa Macao

You've to buy the "the Rough Guide to the Dominican Republic" by Sean Harvey, abouth $17,00 (rooms from $10,00)

there is still plenty of smalls inns under 25.
in sosua, cabarete, santo domingo (not many), samana, even in punta cana.

In Boca Chica there is a nice clean hotel named Villa Marois, it is about 7 minutes walk from the beach. It used to be called Casa Valsou. The Number is 809-523-6585. Enjoy
