Playa Colibri

Have a look also at the Colibri hotel (Playa Colibri Hotel - Oceanfront Apartments in Las Terrenas Dominican Republic) which is a very nice hotel on the beach , all equipped apartments, carribean colors, nice swimming pool and a gorgious beach. We have been there several times and love the place - .- and it is probably cheaper than some other hotels of same category. The employes are very friendly and will give you all info re renting a car or ATV and all excursions to be done in the aera. In any case choosing Las Terrenas is a good idea !

is this a good place for a first timer to the area ?
Las Terrenas is a fantastic place for either first timers or "old hands" ;)
All hotels mentioned are good... Don't hesitate to come !

Another vote for Hotel Playa Colibri -- did two visits.

. . . and at the other end of town -- the other beach -- Las Palmas al Mar was pretty nice too. Welcome to Las Palmas al Mar!

Until the Alisei opened up, I have to agree with Las Palmas del Mar. Very nice 2 bed bunglows and excellent prices. The water across the road, I find it also a clearer and nicer to swim in.

I have been in most of hotels in Las Terrenas.

I only can recommend Hotel Alisei, because of its service, restaurant and rooms, in my opinion is the best choice.

Colibr? is algo OK, but it is older than alisei and is in worse condition.

Hope you have fun!!!

I have spent a total of many months at Kari Beach ever since it was Kanesh Beach, not the most efficent of hotels but the atmosphere is so friendly, conscientious, homely (Brit meaning), that I feel welcome every time I visit. The setting is idyllic and most of the staff have been there a long time!!
