I am going to spend a week in Boca Chica.

I would like to know if I can do fly fishing in this area.

I am also interested on activities or sightviewing that you can do around it.

I am stayin in an all inclusive hotel, but I don't know which one. Any information about them will be nice.

Cheers

Julien; Chamon runs a charter right at the pier by the Don Jaun Hotel, he has a very nice boat and up to date equipment.

As for info on your hotel check out www.bocachicabeach.net it has all the info about the area you need!

JuJu,

I have Flyfished the DR for years and yes there are some great areas to fish.

As a fly fisherman I am assuming that you are interested in inshore fishing. the Actual Boca Chica Area is way too crowded for any serious inshore fishing. You can try the Upper Rio Ozama in Santo Domingo(45 min drive)for some snook and tarpon action. The same can be said about the Rio Chavon(1 1/2 hours to the East)

The SW coast has some excellent Bonefishing Flats and The Western part of Samana Bay Offers great backwater spots.

One word of warning. The Typical Dominican Sportfisherman's idea of fishing is going miles off-shore trolling dead bait until you chance upon a billfish. The jokes and snide comments will come flowing with your first False-cast. So just smile and and show them what real fishing is.

So what do you fish with? Penn Senator with 60lb test line? How far can you cast a rig with that?

Talk to the locals at the hotel, usually the ones that work in and around the lobby they will direct you to the best person and ignore the negative and ignorant ones who probably only watch fishing on TV. They think they know it all.
