That is the initiation fee. Depending on the family/corporate plan you want, or can get, it is around 2,400$.

Gyms in this city seem to be a luxury item based on the costs. Body Shop reminds me of a chain in Canada called Fitness world, same caliber. The difference of course is my membership there was a $100 join fee and 19.95 per month. Even lower end earners can afford to workout in a decent gym.
Could this be why most people seem very out of shape here?
