Walked through there a couple of days ago. It's vacant. The little "villas" appeared to be occupied with Dominicans. Don't know if this is security or squatters. Roosters and chickens were running about. From the looks of it, no tourist-types have been there in awhile.
I would assume that it has not been operational for some time due to comments made regarding their willingness to to actively participate in Perla Marina's community organization. The Sol de Plata homes must use the Perla Marina main gate, security, and roadways in order to enter their own gated area. Although they have their own, separate security, they use Perla Marina roads and services as well. And they have not been paying for Perla Marina services due to Breezes- or Coral Sol de Plata- being closed and not bringing in income. That is what Perla Marina is being told.
I do not have any ax to grind. I am merely a Perla Marina resident reporting what I have seen and what was told to us at the Perla Marina association meeting back about 5 or 6 months ago.
