Budget Hotels in Samana

Hi Folks:

Me and a whole bunch of friends are heading to Samana the weekend of Aug 21-22, and would like to know if anybody could advise on a clean but budget hotel (name and phone #) to stay. Nothing fancy, just a decent place to crash for the night without getting bitten to death by mosquitos :)

Thanks in advance,

William

P.S. Hopefully there are rooms for around RD$250 per room ?

We stayed at Dinny's Hotel in Las Terrenas. It's located right on the beach and has double rooms for RD$275. They are clean, with a ceiling fan, balcony, bathroom and mosquito net. I have no idea of the phone no. (or even if they have a phone), but it's very easy to find. Take the main road leading through town to the beach and turn left - it's about 100 metres away. Have fun.

I assume you're going to Samana city. Some of these places don't have phone numbers, but I'll look to see if I can find any. Casa Tete is a private home where an older Dominican couple rent out a couple of nice rooms in their house. Doria is quite basic, the rooms aren't as nice as Tete but you'll get more privacy, perfectly acceptable cold water showers in both places. Both of them are 250 pesos or less. Which seems more interesting to you?
