Budget Travel in DR

Hallo,

i am planning to visit Repubblica Dominicana in April-May...

I am not a "All Inclusive" traveller. I use to travel in Asia, so i am used to Guesthouses and Bungalow.

So my question is: is it possible to travel in Dominicana in such a way. Do they have small pensions, guesthouses or bungalows (maybe on some isolated beach)?

I would travel with my son, which is 1 jear and 4 month old, but i don?t think this would be a problem ...

Ciao.

Yes, the country is dotted with small hotels. Note that some are inexpensive, but others are more expensive than the all-inclusive hotels. Some hotels we recommend you looking into are: Hotel Frances-Sofitel, Hotel Palacio, Hostal Nicolas Nader in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo (southcentral). High Winds Center in Salinas, Azua (going west) Casa Bonita in Barahona (West) La Catalina off Cabrera in Maria Trinidad Sanchez province (North) Villa Serena (Las Galeras, Samana, Northeast) Tropical Lodge (Samana, Northeast) Hotel Zapata (Boca Chica, Southeast) Hotel Cortecito in Punta Cana (East).

By staying at these properties you will get a good picture to what the DR is about.

Regarding your child... Dominicans are children friendly, and most likely there will be someone on the staff of the hotel who will look after your child as needed.
