Hi, was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions or contacts: I am looking for a Spanish tutor for daily 1 hour lessons in central SD.

I am functionally fluent, but need help refining my business Spanish, so the instructor I am looking for needs to have a business background and good commercial vocab. I tried contacting Entrena, but they didn't get back to me.

Are there any other good schools that might be able to put me in touch with someone? Thanks!

Spanish Teacher Wannabe

Hi girls,

I may be acting out of impatience, but just about an hour ago sitting in front of my office computer I seriously started thinking about teaching Spanish to foreigners here in Santo Domingo, as I've been studying foreign languages of my own accord since I was 13 years old and I think it's time for me to be moving from the receiving to the giving end in language learning --although one never really stops learning--.

I have no education in pedagogics and I've never worked as a teacher, though for the benefit of my image I have worked as a Spanish <-> English and once as a Spanish <-> Italian translator and have been frequently told I should teach languages. More importantly to you, I have an academic background in business, earning my degree in Management in 2001 from INTEC --I hope by now you know it's one of the most important universities in the DR--. Apart from the languages mentioned, I speak Portuguese and have a fair knowledge of German. All these languages knowledge contribute to my holistic vision and savviness in contrasting linguistic systems and in my intercultural understanding.

I have what would be considered a good job by Dominican standards at the age of 22 and just want the chance to try out teaching Spanish. If you are interested in exploring the possibility of my tutoring to you, please send me a PM so you can get to know what I am about and how I can help you.

Espero sus respuestas.

Online option

There are some online tutors you might want to consider. I've had luck with Nulengua - classes are flexible, one-to-one and relatively cheap (at least compared to what I can find here in Louisville).
