So, due to the fact that some folks took forever and a day to get it together with their deposits, my original plan is pretty much shot to Hell. Olas de Oro villas is pretty booked up for our vacation week.

Nanny Estates was to be our back up. Anyone familiar with the poolside villa? Is it a ways from the others? Could you hear people if they sneezed inside those four walls?

Nanny Estates was suggested to me, but a quiet policy has been mentioned. I'm being realistic in saying that a group of 6 or more , going out every night to party and returning in the wee hours, are bound to be a little noisey. I'm not talking about blasting the stereo late at night or running amock on the grounds, but walking on eggshells while on vacation is not a must for me . So, exactly how serious is this quiet pollicy? Are we not going to see others going out at night as well and returning?

If so, what other options are there? Ocean Dream is now out because they have a quiet policy in the day and night and they are beyond my 215 pp budget for 8 days. Are there any other villa-like accommodations that have a pool, preferably private- if not: accessible after 9pm? How about no written quiet policy, contains at least 3 bedrooms & two or more bathrooms, nice decorum, WiFi or highspeed, cable or sat., and can accommodate ten people? Or 6 in one villa and four in the other, if it's a complex? It was possible with Olas de Oro but we didn't move fast enough. So basically, is there something similar to Olas de Oro and in walking distance to the center of town?
Thanks

Hi, I stopped at Cabarete Beach Houses at The Nanny Estates in January with a friend from Santiago. It was mainly families with children and older couples staying there. I find the place perfect, its location is great only a 10 minute walk along the beach and you are in town. 50 yard walk to the sea and a fantastic view from your bedroom, supermarket 5 minute walk.
In response to your questions the pool villa isn't far from the other houses but still private enough. The pool can be used by all, though it wasn't ever busy.
At night there are security guards on site and yes there is a quiet policy, but as long as you don't have a riot would not have thought there was a problem. Have to admit did not see many others going out at night while I was there but don't let that put you off. I have already booked for my next trip but I am 44 and don't need as much excitement as you?!

We ususally stay in Puerto Plata/Confresi Beach. I'd love to share my experiences if you're interested. We have a villa there which we rent - with a private pool

Thank you for the suggestions and advice everyone. We are definitely staying in Cabarete because it apparantly caters to the younger crowd. (We're all 22-23 years old ).

midsmikeuk- Lol, we are an excitement seekng bunch indeed. We won't be rioting, but we will likely be playing music while we get ready to go out at night and we'll come back in the wee hours to crash. I saw the location of the villa on the map though, and it looks as if it is private enough like you said. I'm glad to here your comments especially because I needed perspectives on the atmosphere there.

Is anyone familiar with Villa 24 at Olas de Oro or have ou seen the beachfront villa?
