CAIPS question

Irina, does your online status show that you are " in process"? If it does then yes they have looked your papers.

I decided to ask my question in a new thread, since it was off topic.

I received my CAIPS notes and it looks like nobody's looked at my application since it first arrived. Is that normal? I'm in my fifth month now as well but the CAIPS were ordered at the 3 month mark.

The other thing that's disturbed me is that my husband's address has never been updated in ecas. I've updated it twice now; once in Sept/Oct and the 2nd time around New Year's. I've also updated the contact info as far as email and I doubt that's been changed. I've never received a response to my question about a mistake on a form and frankly, I'm feeling like our file and myself are invisible. I keep hearing that other people have gotten responses so it concerns me.

I know there are bigger concerns in the world right now (Haiti) but this was something that's been in my mind ever since I read my CAIPs.

Does it provide a bring forward date - that will tell you when its going to be next looked at.

how did you do the address update - just because if you emailed it but then emailed questions - they only reply to the latest email so they could have missed it.

I"m sure it will work out. We didn't hear anything until it was time for an interview then everything went really quickly. I never ordered CAIPS notes - so I don't know what they said.

good luck!

I emailed the question. I updated the contact info using the direct inquiry tool on CIC. My bfd date in CAIPS was August 28, 2009..... :ermm:

Don't feel bad Sweetkiwi, I'm in the same boat. I received the CAIPS notes I ordered today and there was basically nothing in them!! Only my hubby's personal info and the code (M19) to say he passed his medical.

It says that his last bf'd was Nov. 7th 2009 and these CAIPS notes were printed out on Jan. 19th 2010.

So to sum it up: zip, zilch, nada y nada! So discouraging:(

Hello,

I received my CAIPS notes as well today and as far as I can tell there isn't much that stands out. All the info for our temp vis. visa was in there as well. No one has been assigned to our file yet :(

Oh well, off to the DR tomorrow. I will worry about it when I get back :)

Jess, to know your husband is M19 on the medical is good news. You know now that won't hold you up as there were no complications with his medical.

i think you girls just ordered a little too soon. Don't be discouraged. The most important thing I found in my CAIPS were the notes they made on the file. I missed them the first couple time I looked at them as they were in French - then I has someone translate them for me and that was the most helpful information.

But ... knowing the medical went well is really good news. Hang on to that. :)

Thanks Twillis for the encouraging words. I'm not sure if I should order the CAIPS notes again now or wait until things get organized with the new CIC office?

Thank you for your responses.

^^^I didn't realize that is what M19 means. That is the status on my (his) CAIPs notes as well so that's good news, thank you.

I'm going to wait to order my next set in March I think, but I'm still concerned that there wasn't even a BF date beyond that of the PPS (paper screening). Oh well. I can't really do anything but wait.

My bring forward date was Oct 20/09... So I waited until November and re-ordered the CAIPs notes. I received them in December with a date stamp of Dec 10th and, no surprise, nothing had been updated to my file either except that my previous request for CAIPs notes had been documented. I will wait a few more months until things sort themselves out and then try again. I will be going down in April and my hubby's medical will expire on April 15th. I wonder if I should have him do a new medical while I am there and send it in?
All of the waiting is hard enough but what makes it so much worse is not having any idea of what is happening with our applications!

My husbands medical will also expire in April but I heard that you shouldn't re-do the medical until they request that you redo the medical??? Not sure. Does anyone know??

Just a quick comment that you can also ask your MP's office to put in a request and they usually get back to you in a few weeks. They use the same system to see what information has been entered into your file. If you haven't contacted your MP's office you may want to given the current situtation with the embassy in Port-au-Prince. They may be able to give you better information on timelines and help you to find out where your application is. I recevieved my CAIPS notes after being in process for 4 months and there were notes from the imm officer in them however said nothing about a decision being made and when I contacted PAP a few weeks later they informed me my husband had been approved so don't be discouraged by the limited amount of information in the notes.

Our medical expired and we were told not to redo it until asked to. This is correct. When a medical is redone, they are different forms that Immigration gives you. They are not the same forms as on the website. So don't go ahead and redo it on your own. You will only waste money. We redid our medical after our interview.

Finally got my CAIPS notes this past weekend. They were last updated on December 22nd, 2009. They stated that my BF date was supposed to be March 8th, 2010. They also stated the way my husband and I met, neither of having kids, this being our first marriage. Half of it was written in French. I don't think there was any other information that meant anything except for a copy of an email I had sent them with their response telling me not to contact them until March 2010, which just so happened to be my next BF date.

Considering everyone else who's application was submitted before me has heard something from the visa office concerning their applications, this may be an indicator of where they're at with your applications if you submitted your application after me...

Your BF date was March 8 before the earthquake happened. Should those of us getting our CAIPS notes expect that any BF date listed before the earthquake will be inaccurate at this point as we should probably assume everything will be delayed now. All we can do is wait and see...

I believe these dates will no longer be accurate. I think it is going to take longer for my case as well, even though our applications are supposed to "fast-tracked," I think with the "adoption cases" that they have been focusing on for the past month are seriously hindering them focusing on any of the other Haitian cases. I also believe they will be making a big deal out of loss of documents, etc and being "cautious" when letting Haitians in due to the escaped convicts from the prisons. My point is, I believe I will be waiting longer than the rest of the countries, so maybe your bringforward dates will be more accurate.

Part of the reason I am thinking so negatively about their "fast-track" program is after reading what half of the Canadian population seems to think about letting Haitians in and getting hate emails from racist Canadian citizens who are people of color themselves but racist against Haitians? I regret having moved back to this place, even though I was born here and have every right to be here. Sorry, just fed up. But, I think the rest of the applications will not be hindered since there is no "security threats" anywhere other than Haiti.
