I have a house around Sosua and I want to buy a car (jeepeta).
I need some infos for a car insurance. Somebody can give me some tips
for the best price, quality of the service, the renewal etc.
I want to buy a Suzuki Jeepeta 2001-2003 and I need some advise... Thanks
Legal car insurance (liability) is minimal here. I would urge anyone to get the best liability coverage possible (that's not that expensive) which includes ambulance, road side assistance etc as well as "casa del conductor" (a private prison for those preventively arrested at accidents with injuries or deaths).
Insuring your car from own damage or damage caused by other who have no or insufficient liability coverage (which is the case of probably the majority who may hit you), can run pretty expensive.
Go with a reputable company! Banco Popular owns or is at least associated to one big insurer... a place to start.
If you do not have a Dominican Driver's License, you may either want to get one (IF you are resident you can and must) or have the insurer issue a signed and sealed letter confirming that they accept the risk with driver(s) with foreign driver's license.
