Car rental from Sabana de la Mar
go with the big companies that you will find on orbitz. The small ones just screw you.
If you reverse your directions no problem. I don't think Sabana De La Mar has a car rental agency.
Out of curiosity how do you plan on getting to Sabana. It's a very small town that is known for the ferry to Samana
My wife and I have visited there several times coming from the Sabana side. There are several busses that run from there to Miches and from there you can transfer to on going busses. Since covid that is pretty much your options
Do not know of any car rentals in Sabana de la Mar. If you are coming from Samana to Sabana de la Mar on the ferry, obtain a car, and then travel to Punta Cana it will take some planning. It takes about ¾ hour -1 hour to travel by ferry, weather permitting, It is 2 - 2½ hours over the road to Punta Cana by car from Sabana de la Mar. Do you intend to overnight a day or two in Punta Cana? Buses to Punta Cana from Sabana de la Mar are hap hazard, There are no direct buses, There are various routes involving bus transfers, Sabana de la Mar - Miches - Higuey - Punta Cana; Sabana de la Mar - Hato Major - El Seibo - Higuey - Punta Cana. Hiring a driver with a car is an option.

As a follow up to my story, we took the ferry across the bay. It cost 300 pesos per person, one way and children do not pay. It is a small ferry. I would assume it holds maybe 50 people and a couple of motorcycles.
We were unable to find a car rental at a reasonable price. There was one car rental agency, but they did not have a location in Savannah de La Mar, and the other location and Miches was at club med, and it was only a drop off location and there was an $100 up charge plus a three day minimum for a car rental so for three days the car would’ve cost me Over $500.
I contacted quite a few people and ended up getting a ride one way to Punta Cana for $150.
The contact name is Jackson and his number is 829-596-0336. The name of the actual driver was Santos.
We met another driver at 3:30 in the morning who took us to many places in search of food after going to Coco Bongo. He agreed to give us a ride back to Sabana de la Mar for only $100. His contact info is Jose Gonzales 829-345-6783. The first half of the drive from Savana de la Mar past Miches is a little slow going. The road is in good condition, but there are a lot of speed bumps. Once you get past that section, then it is free sailing and the road on that second part is also in good condition.
Don’t drive in Punta Cana during rush hour.
