car rentals in Punta Cana Airport???

But when I got to the airport there was no office but the Avis rep was there with my car exactly as I had reserved. We did all paperwork in the car in the parking lot no problem. I returned the car to the office in Fruisa and they drove me to the airport again no problems. I highly recommend them for service and price.

I'm really lost because my friend told me that in punta cana airport they had car rentals by the terminal......any help please?......i heard they had alam

I usually rent them via the Internet and they either bring it to my hotel or pick me up at the airport. I'd never seen rental places right at the airport that I can remember....hmmm maybe someone can update us on that. You shouldn't have any problems renting via the net with a reputable agency.
I use rentalcarmomma.com and my car is waiting at PC airport. They also give you the phone number of the local office, so you can call ahead and tell them your plan.
after my last Europe visit I came back end May and did not see a Carrental, but in different postings on the bords I read that there is a carrental office now.

just look on the internet on any search engine, There are lots of rental companies at the airport as you exit terminal. If you are intending to return to Puerto plata i would reccomend using a big company that has offices in ecach airport. I preffer Budget,Avis and National in that order.

when I came back from Europe end My there was Not even one company present, then I heard there's a office/booth now.

that sounds good if they could drop off the car at the resort ill be staying in.......may i ask what company does that?
most or all car rental companies deliver Your Car to the Airport and also at Your Hotel on request.

to get a Car delivered to your Hotel you will find the rental agency's contact info/phone at all Hotels, if you can not find their Desk/promotion just ask Guest services, they have the contact numbers.
I did not rent since years, but it was alwasy cheaper to book online than to book at the destin directly, even during my travels from Europe to the US.
today also there was at my side a Guy standing holding a sign "Avis", awaiting clients to hand them over their Car.

Yes I believe there r car rental companies right outside the terminals, I've rented my share of cars in Punta Cana but never at the airport, u can get better rates if u do it right off the internet. I find that u get better deals 95% of the time I used EuorpCar spelled like that. I've used AVIS before but the former beats every other price.

Avis and Budget and National Rent-a-Car share a "Table" with 3 Seats, one for Each's Representative, located right when you passed Customs, on the right hand side, a 5 meters before you hit the Area where all the Tourrepresentatives and Taxis and Transfer Companies have their Booths.
but they are not there to sell and they are not there always, they only have a Representative there when they await a Customer who prior did reserve a car, so there at that Table they now let you sign the Papers and hand you over your Car.
but no "Office".
the one who been there today been the Rep from Avis, so I asked him what happens if a customer arrives without a Booking and want's a Car.
he told me that they always have a sign there at the desk with their phone number in case no representative is present, and within 20 minutes a representative would be available at the airport and the customer could get a car.

so when you rented numerous times a Car, where did you get the Car after arrivalin PC if not at the Airport?
to get the Car at the airport has the advantage that you can drive yourself to the hotel or Condo, so no Transfer/Cabby etc needed to pay.

Can someone tell me where is Alamo car rental located in the punta cana airport?....im under 25 so Alamo is one of the few companies that would rent to me.
You're better off renting via the net to get decent rates as other have mentioned. After you book you car, look up the local agency phone number (It is usually on the confirmation or you can get it from the co website), call the local number and make sure you give the your flight information, write down the name of the person you talk with, and make sure they repeat to you the information you gave them.
for ""Chofeured"" transportation, also simply named a Private Airport Transfer, done by many good and reliable companies in Punta Cana, I always recommend Bronly from IBK Servicios Turisticos, great reliable services, modern airconditioned Vans, friendly Drivers, always on Time and great Rates.
